Physician-supervised Intralipid infusions for recurrent miscarriage, IVF implantation failure, and immune-related fertility challenges in Clifton and Tenafly, NJ. Transparent self-pay pricing. Same-week scheduling.
Intralipid is a sterile intravenous fat emulsion used to calm an overactive immune system that may be preventing pregnancy. It works by modulating natural killer (NK) cells — immune cells that, when overactive, can attack a developing embryo as if it were a foreign threat.
By reducing this immune response, Intralipid helps create a more favorable environment for embryo implantation and a healthy pregnancy to develop.
It is one of the most cost-effective immune therapies available — with a similar NK cell suppression profile to IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin), but at a fraction of the cost.

Multiple studies have evaluated Intralipid therapy in women with recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure:
Intralipid therapy is considered investigational for reproductive use and is not FDA-approved specifically for infertility. We require a consultation to assess whether this therapy is appropriate for your specific situation.
Our protocol follows the research:
Step 1 – Consultation
A focused visit with our board-certified physician to review your history, prior pregnancy losses, fertility records, and any NK cell or immune testing. We confirm whether Intralipid is appropriate for you.
Step 2 – Pre-Transfer or Pre-Conception Infusion
Intralipid (20% solution in normal saline) is administered 10–14 days before embryo transfer or planned conception. The infusion takes approximately 60 minutes in our comfortable infusion suite.
Step 3 – Repeat Infusions During Early Pregnancy
We repeat the initial Intralipid infusion within 24 hours of transfer. If you achieve a positive pregnancy test, a repeat infusion is typically given again 2 weeks after the last one. This repeats every 2 weeks to continue supporting the immune environment during the critical first trimester.
Step 4 – Monitoring and Follow-Up
You are seen by the physician once a month while on IV Intralipids with comprehensive check-ups. Intralipids continue every 2 weeks until ≥24 weeks gestation. We stay in close communication with you and your reproductive endocrinologist, fertility specialist, or OB-GYN throughout your protocol to coordinate care and adjust timing as needed.
Intralipid is a synthetic fat emulsion — it contains no human blood products, which significantly reduces the risk of blood-borne reactions associated with IVIG.
Side effects are rare, are mild, and may include:
All infusions are administered under physician supervision in our medical infusion suites with trained clinical staff present throughout.
