IV ASCOR®

The Only FDA-Approved Injectable Vitamin C — And Why It Matters

ASCOR® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) product, meaning the strength, safety, and quality of every vial is federally verified. Unlike compounded or pharmacy-mixed vitamin C, ASCOR® delivers pharmaceutical-grade certainty — something your oncologist can trust.

When delivered intravenously at high doses, Vitamin C achieves plasma concentrations 100 to 500 times higher than oral supplementation. At these concentrations, it shifts from an antioxidant to a pro-oxidant, generating hydrogen peroxide selectively in the tumor microenvironment — stressing cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue. [J Exp Clin Cancer Res. 2021 Oct 30;40:343. doi: 10. 1186/s13046-021-02134-y]

High Dose Vitamin C — Ascor — used in integrative oncology for cancer support.

How It Works

What High-Dose IV Vitamin C Does in Your Body

  • Experienced two or more unexplained miscarriages
  • Had repeated IVF cycles fail despite good embryo quality
  • Elevated natural killer (NK) cell activity on immune testing
  • Been diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome or other autoimmune factors
  • Had unexplained implantation failure after embryo transfer
  • Been recommended Intralipid therapy by your reproductive endocrinologist or OB-GYN
  • Previously responded poorly to or cannot afford IVIG

The Evidence

What Does the Research Say?

Multiple studies have evaluated Intralipid therapy in women with recurrent pregnancy loss and implantation failure:

  • A meta-analysis of 12 studies found Intralipid infusion led to significant improvements in implantation rates, pregnancy rates, and live birth rates in women with elevated NK cells and unexplained fertility failure. [Reproductive Fertility 2021 Jun 3;2(3):173–186. doi: 10.1530/RAF-20-0052]
  • A cohort study found a 70% live birth rate in women with recurrent miscarriage who received Intralipid therapy — significantly higher than untreated controls. [European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Volume 252, September 2020, Pages 100-104]
  • Intralipid therapy has been shown to suppress NK cell cytotoxicity at a rate equivalent to IVIG, at a substantially lower cost and without the risks associated with human blood-derived products. [J Obstet Gynaecol India. 2015 Jul 11;65(4):213–217. doi: 10.1007/s13224-015-0732-7]

Intralipid therapy is considered investigational for reproductive use and is not FDA-approved specifically for infertility. We require a consultation to assess whether this therapy is appropriate for your specific situation.

Our Intralipid Protocol

How We Administer Intralipid at Infusion Center of NJ

Our protocol follows the research:

Step 1 – Consultation

A focused visit with our board-certified physician to review your history, prior pregnancy losses, fertility records, and any NK cell or immune testing. We confirm whether Intralipid is appropriate for you.

Step 2 – Pre-Transfer or Pre-Conception Infusion

Intralipid (20% solution in normal saline) is administered 10–14 days before embryo transfer or planned conception. The infusion takes approximately 60 minutes in our comfortable infusion suite.

Step 3 – Repeat Infusions During Early Pregnancy

We repeat the initial Intralipid infusion within 24 hours of transfer. If you achieve a positive pregnancy test, a repeat infusion is typically given again 2 weeks after the last one. This repeats every 2 weeks to continue supporting the immune environment during the critical first trimester.

Step 4 – Monitoring and Follow-Up

You are seen by the physician once a month while on IV Intralipids with comprehensive check-ups. Intralipids continue every 2 weeks until ≥24 weeks gestation. We stay in close communication with you and your reproductive endocrinologist, fertility specialist, or OB-GYN throughout your protocol to coordinate care and adjust timing as needed.

Safety

Safe, Well-Tolerated, and Medically Supervised

Intralipid is a synthetic fat emulsion — it contains no human blood products, which significantly reduces the risk of blood-borne reactions associated with IVIG.

Side effects are rare, are mild, and may include:

  • Mild nausea or flushing during infusion
  • Temporary headache
  • Slight fever

All infusions are administered under physician supervision in our medical infusion suites with trained clinical staff present throughout.
